I dined at the bar solo earlier this month and the service was attentive, the food was flavorful and delicious, and my sparking white wine was light and crisp. I had the Moroccan duck leg, mushroom toast and two glasses of sparking wine. I was visiting from Denver, but I will for sure come back to DC in the New Year and checkout the rooftop patio!
Great restaurant, we very much enjoyed our dinner. We ordered hummus (yuuumm), cauliflower so tasty with intricate flavors sweet, spicy, delicious. My husband and I love Branzino fish, so we had to order that and it was soooo good. A whole fish cut butterfly, charred and grilled with a garbanzo bean cucumber salad. Our meal ended with lemon olive cake, which reminded me of jiffy cornbread 😋, but it was good. The service was great, food comes out quickly...before we took the last bite of food, the next course was on the table. Two thumbs up all around 👍🏾 👍🏾.
Located in the happening part of the city surrounded by some great bars and restaurants. Has a rooftop sitting but closes around 9:30. Dark and chocolate color interiors with dim lighting gives a ver intimate setting feel in the dinning are while the bar sitting is pretty well lit for casual setting. The service is a bit poor and in a rush to get high table turnover. Food menu is a bit restrictive with just four entree options and that too only meat or seafood. The plating and the serving is good. We really liked their raspberry mock tail and the fried cauliflower. Overall, a one time visit restaurant given there are so many other equally placed restaurants serving flavorful cuisine with more options. Cheers!
Let me put this way, the restaurant has an amazing vibe to it, the lights a dim, has an earthy decor and an extremely cozy ambience. The cocktails are perfect and has a kick to it. The food options are limited with very small portion size which makes it no value for money.
However, being on my birthday they gave me a complimentary desert which was amazing from them, which exactly makes it a good experience all together.

So cozy and romantic, try sitting upstairs and outside. The wait staff are wonderfully attentive. Good attention to gluten free and allergies. Try the lacquered chicken, all the flavors are a treat for so many different tastes that meld on your tongue in an incredibly satisfying manner.
Gypsy Kitchen in DC, located near Logan Circle off 14th Street, offers a delightful Mediterranean and Middle Eastern tapas experience. The menu boasts a fusion of small and large dishes, such as the Grilled Market Fish with chickpea and vegetable salata, cucumber yogurt, and ladolemono, and the Lacquered Half Chicken with seasonal pickles, spicy pilaf, garlic toum, and harissa. What sets this restaurant apart is its accessibility, as it's not an impossible table to book, and during the summer, I think they even offer an inviting outdoor patio on the upstairs.
Came here on our first date 2 years ago and made an intentional revisit. Service and atmosphere delivered as it always does. Our server Honor was incredible. Shoutout to you! Absolutely loved having you part of our wonderful evening. …
My husband and I dined here before the Dave Chappelle show at Lincoln Theater. The atmosphere is beautiful and the vibe is even better. We enjoyed all of the dishes we ate. I must say that the crispy cauliflower is AMAZING!! My favorite dish we ate.
I would have given all 5 stars but I was disappointed about the restaurants HH rule. You can only enjoy the HH items in the bar area. I find this utterly ridiculous. We ordered a few drinks and apps at the bar as I really wanted the Lamb app because it was not on the regular menu. We were told we could order but would have to eat the items at the bar or carry the items OURSELVES up the stairs to our table. We waited about 20 minutes for everything to arrive (our rooftop table had been ready) and my husband and I walked up the stairs struggling to carry the apps and drinks we ordered. Needless to say we did NOT tip at the bar area. I don't understand why management would make guests do that? My husband said that was enough for him to not want to return; I am a tad bit more forgiving.
Nice establishments should not have such an inconvenient and ridiculous rule. Just let your guests enjoy happy hour for a few hours throughout the ENTIRE restaurant for God's sake... geesh! Petty much?
